Hong Kong Buddhist Education Foundation has been established since October 1998. We follow the teaching of Venerable Master Chin Kung: “Buddhism is the most perfect and virtuous education that Buddha Shakyamuni has imparted to all beings”, and “Learning from Buddha is of the highest form of joy in life.”
The association proactively promotes the teachings of Buddha and Chinese traditional culture. Regular classes and seminars are conducted as well as circulation of all Dharma teaching materials such as audio and video resources, books, DVDs and CDs. Website and social media are utilized to reach more people. Learning from the classical sutra lectures and following the Pure Land tradition of chanting Amitabha Buddha’s name, we hope that such beneficial learning can be shared with anyone and everyone. In the winter solstice of 2002, we have set up the “Ancestral Memorial Hall of All Families”. We wish to see the return of traditional value of respecting heritage and understanding where we come from. In recent years, we have been conducting Thrice Yearning ceremony, ancestral memorial service and Confucius memorial service. Our only hope is to promote the teaching of Buddha, Chinese traditional culture, filial piety and respecting our teachers. In the process we hope to see that more people will benefit from kindness and compassion which in turn will help to promote social stability and bring world peace closer.
